This August, the ASCFS hosted the 15th Annual Craniofacial Fellows Anatomy Course, an educational program designed for fellows specializing in craniofacial surgery. This course focuses on advanced anatomy and surgical techniques related to the head, face, and skull. It offers hands-on cadaver dissections, lectures, and workshops to help fellows develop a deeper understanding of craniofacial anatomy and prepare them for complex reconstructive surgeries. There is also a 3D simulation lab which helps fellows visualize the osteotomies prior to the cadaver dissections.
The course covers topics such as facial skeletal structure, soft tissue anatomy, neurovascular structures, and surgical approaches for treating congenital and acquired craniofacial anomalies. It is hosted in Phoenix annually by Dr. Davinder Singh (current ASCFS president) and Dr. Stephen Beals (past ASCFS president) and national faculty attend to teach the craniofacial fellows. This years faculty included Dr. Catherine Garland, Dr. Matthew Grieves, Dr. Ray Harshbarger, Dr. Davinder Singh, Dr. Raj Vyas, and Dr. Joe Williams.
We are so thrilled and impressed to see the influx of fresh energy, talent, and passion in this year's class of craniofacial fellows, and look forward to having you as members of ASCFS and our community of craniofacial surgeons.
