Mission

The mission of the American Society for Craniofacial Surgery shall be:
To advance the care we provide to patients in the field of craniofacial surgery through advocacy, education, and research. We promote team-based care and collaboration among craniofacial surgeons nationally to foster excellence in craniofacial care.

The specific goals of the society are:

  1. to furnish leadership and foster advances in craniofacial surgery;
  2. to afford a forum for the exchange of knowledge pertaining to practice of the above;
  3. to stimulate research, investigation, and teaching in the methods of preventing and correcting congenital and acquired craniofacial deformities;
  4. to enhance the study and practice of craniofacial surgery; and
  5. to afford recognition to those who have contributed to craniofacial surgery by extending to them, membership in the Society.
  6. to provide governance and oversight of a matching process for post-residency fellowship training in Craniofacial surgery in North America
Craniofacial surgery is a subspecialty of plastic surgery and includes the investigation, preservation, and restoration of craniofacial form and function by medical and surgical means.
